Written In Stone

As the students of Thomaston Grammar School started this expedition we relied on a book that is familiar to most citizens of Thomaston. The book is, A History of Thomaston, Maine for Young Readers by Bradley Beckett. Bradley of Cushing taught school for 26 years. As a teacher at TGS he passed along to his students a passion for our history. Brad’s knowledge of the past brought history to life. He authored three history books and acted as a valuable resource to area historical societies. His passion for the past inspired him to gather the oral recollections of many of our older residents to create a lasting record for future generations. He served as the official town historian for the Town of Cushing.

We’d like to address

That this show is a work in progress, and there

May be errors you’ll find.

We hope you don’t mind, but if you do,

Just remember that you were once in Grade 6, too!

Thank you for your understanding and support,
